Intel proposes to make self-driving cars blameless

Intel Corp has developed a system it says ensures that self-driving vehicles can’t cause accidents where they are at fault, an effort to reassure a skeptical public and help speed adoption of driverless cars on road.

The world’s largest chipmaker is publishing a set of standards, based on mathematical formulas, that will govern the behavior of robot cars and trucks. If they’re adopted, Intel argues, it will bring certainty to questions of liability and blame in the event of an accident.

For its seventh edition, the Christie’s-hosted Only Watch charity auction has procured 50 lots of exceptional merit from some of the most important names in watchmaking. All profits from sales, which commence online and in Geneva on November 11, go to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy research. The auction and 10-city watch tour, currently underway, both receive patronage from H.S.H. Prince Albert II of Monaco, and the globe-traveling event commenced at the Monaco Yacht Club.

BMW unveils 330i Gran Turismo M Sport in India

BMW, India’s second biggest German luxury carmaker on Tuesday has expanded the 3-series GT range with a new variant of the BMW 330i Gran Turismo M Sport to cash in on the ongoing festival season in Asia’s third biggest economy.

With a price band of Rs 49.40 lakh, the BMW 330i Gran Turismo M Sport has no direct rival on road in India. The new car is locally produced at BMW factory at Chennai and can be ordered from BMW dealerships from today onwards.

Car buyers disappoint

Dhanteras car sales, usually bumper every year, were flat despite freebies and discounts galore ranging from Rs 20,000 to Rs 3 lakh to lure buyers.

These included traditional best sellers like Maruti Suzuki, India’s biggest carmaker by sales to Hyundai, Toyota Kirloskar and luxury carmakers such as Mercedes-Benz.

Harley-Davidson rolls out 2018 Softail Series

American two-wheeler manufacturer, Harley-Davidson on Thursday launched its 2018 Softail range in India. This newly introduced line-up includes four motorcycles – Street Bob, Heritage Classic, Fat Bob and Fat Boy – priced at Rs 11.99 lakh, Rs 18.99 lakh, Rs 13.99 lakh and Rs 17.49 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). All four new models get cosmetics as well as mechanical upgrades and look much different from their existing versions.
