Apple Is Ramping Up Work on AR Headset to Succeed iPhone

Apple Inc, seeking a breakthrough product to succeed the iPhone, aims to have technology ready for an augmented-reality headset in 2019 and could ship a product as early as 2020.

Unlike the current generation of virtual reality headsets that use a smartphone as the engine and screen, Apple’s device will have its own display and run on a new chip and operating system, according to people familiar with the situation. The development timeline is very aggressive and could still change, said the people, who requested anonymity to speak freely about a private matter.

Hospitality major Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group has added up another upscale hotel by rebranding its Country Inn & Suites to Radisson Gurugram as a brand synonymous with outstanding service and comfort. It is the first Radisson hotel in the millennium city of Gurgaon. 

Nadella talks of a journey with Hit Refresh

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella said mixed reality, artificial intelligence and quantum computing are three path-breaking technologies that will “shape” the world in coming years.

Stating that the computing history has so far been about enhancing the man-machine interface, Nadella articulated that ultimate computing experience will be “mixed reality” that blends the real and the virtual world.

Nadella took to the stage on Tuesday to talk about his book Hit Refresh - The Quest to Rediscover Microsoft’s Soul and Imagine a Better Future for Everyone.

Suzuki Intruder 150 now in India at Rs 98,340

Japanese two-wheeler maker, Suzuki India, on Tuesday launched its entry-level cruiser in the Indian market – Intruder 150 with a price tag of Rs 98,340 (ex-showroom, Delhi), which makes it a direct competitor of the Bajaj Avenger 150 Street. The new Intruder will available in two colours option– Metallic Oort/Metallic Matt Black No 2, and Glass Sparkle Black/ Metallic Matt Titanium Silver.

Mercedes unveils facelifts of AMG CLA & GLA 45

Mercedes-Benz, India’s biggest German luxury carmaker by sales  introduced facelifts of Mercedes AMG CLA 45 4Matic Coupe and Mercedes AMG GLA 45 4Matic SUV priced at Rs 75.20 lakh and Rs 77.85 lakh at pan India showroom, respectively.

Interestingly, the prices of the refreshed CLA 45 and GLA 45 are unchanged.

However, the respective Aero edition models of the CLA 45 and GLA 45 are priced at Rs 77.69 lakh and Rs 80.67 lakh.

The Aero editions of the Pune-headquartered brand feature a high level of customer customisation.

Mahindra Powerol launches generators

Mahindra Powerol, a business unit of the $19 billion Mahindra Group, on Monday forayed into the lucrative higher capacity diesel generators (DG) segment with the launch of new range of 250 and 320 kva DGs to target 10 per cent growth in one year.

The Mumbai-based company had clocked a sales turnover of Rs 1,250 crore in FY17, a growth of 10 per cent over FY16. But the genset industry in the country was flat due to slow down in telecom industry.

Tata Motors unveils Tigor AMT

Tata Motors, India’s biggest automobile major by revenues, on Thursday expanded its Tigor compact sedan portfolio with the automated manual transmission (AMT) to boost sales in Asia’s third biggest car market.

The five-speed AMT gearbox is only available in the XZA and XTA variants with the Revotron 1.2 litre petrol engine. While the XTA variant is priced at Rs 5.75 lakh and the top-end XZA variant costs Rs 6.22 lakh at Delhi showroom.

This is an increase of about Rs 40,000 compared to their respective manual transmission versions in the market.

ITC launches Farmland potatoes

India’s leading FMCG player, ITC forayed into the area of fruits and vegetable segment with a new brand ‘Farmland’.

The company made its debut in the market with four range of potato variants - natural low sugar potatoes, potatoes with natural antioxidant, baby potatoes and French fry potatoes.

The company is also planning to introduce its new range of apples by the next quarter under a new Farmland brand.

Through its Farmland brand, ITC hopes to achieve its target of Rs 1,00,000 crore by 2030.
